The primary author is Dr. Chad M. Kauffman, Director of the Meteorology Program at California University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kauffman is also a professor of Earth Sciences at California University of Pennsylvania and has taught Introduction to Climatology and Synoptic Climatology & Applied Climatology courses throughout his career. The textbook contains 14 chapters each written to a weekly topic. Each chapter is designed for one week of study by the student. The textbook contains twenty Questions for Review and twelve Critical Thinking Questions per chapter.
